Wine estates and vineyards

Provence is the largest rosé wine producer in the world, offering three appellations: Coteaux d'Aix en Provence, Coteaux Varois en Provence and Côtes de Provence.

The rosé wine finds its origin in the Provence, 2600 years ago, when the Greeks planted the first grapevines in the Marseille region. These days, the region around Aix en Provence is leading for Provencal wines, also producing the best rosé wines.

Most of the wine producers ( the "Domaines") offer guided tours, free wine tasting and sell on-site produced wines.

Those who would like to conviently try all Provencal wines at one location definitely have to visit the Maison des Vins in Les Arcs sur Argens, where you can taste and purchase all Provencal (rosé) wines at producer prices.
