Provence

The colorful sweet smelling fields of lavender or sunflowers and the typical villages of the Provence were a source of inspiration for many famous artists. Also outside the hectic summer months the Provence is a delicious holiday region, thanks to its mild Mediterranean climate.

The Provence is characterized by ancient picturesque villages such as Flayosc, Lorgues, Cotignac, Tourtour or Aups with a lot of history, architecture and narrow streets, old churches and picturesque plane tree squares. The Provence is also rich in vineyards, endless fields of lavender and gold yellow sunflowers, olive groves and fragrant cypresses.

The Gorges du Verdon (also referred to as the "Grand Canyon of Europe"), where the River meanders in between jagged rocks, is one of the most important sights in the hinterland.
